Paint Correction & Ceramic Coatings

Correction first. Coating second. One uncompromising discipline.

Paint correction is the disciplined removal of swirl, scratch and wash-induced defects from the clear coat. Ceramic coating is the protective glass finish that locks that work in for years. At Flex Auto Care Studio in Pasadena, the two are inseparable — because coating uncorrected paint is the fastest way to immortalize every flaw.

Paint correction restores the finish your vehicle left the factory with — and often surpasses it. Ceramic coating, applied over that corrected surface, is what keeps it that way. The two are built around the same standard, performed under the same inspection lighting, by the same hands.

You can request paint correction as a standalone service, or pair it with a full ceramic installation using premium Gtechniq products as a single, integrated protection package. Either path, the preparation is the same — meticulous, measured, and never rushed.

Two Paths, One Standard

Choose your finish

Path 01

Paint Correction — Standalone

For clients who want their finish restored without committing to a ceramic coating. Single, multi or show-car correction performed under inspection lighting, finished with a high-grade paint sealant for short-term protection.

  • · Multi-stage paint correction
  • · Mirror-finish refinement
  • · Paint sealant protection

Path 02 · Recommended

Paint Correction + Ceramic Coating

The complete protection package. Full multi-stage correction followed by a dual-layer ceramic coating using premium Gtechniq products — engineered to preserve the restored finish for up to 5 years with proper maintenance.

  • · Everything in standalone correction
  • · Dual-layer ceramic installation with Gtechniq products
  • · Up to 5 years of protection with maintenance plan

Paint Correction

The finish your paint left the factory with — restored, deeper, clearer.

Every paint correction at Flex begins with measurement — paint thickness across every panel, defect mapping under multiple light sources, and a clear conversation about what the finish can become.

The goal is the minimum mechanical work required to restore the surface. Never aggressive, never speculative. Single-stage refinement, multi-stage compounding or full show-car correction — whichever the paint actually needs.

Correction Stages

From enhancement to show car

01

Single Stage Correction

An enhancement polish that lifts gloss and removes light wash marring. Ideal for newer vehicles or finishes in strong baseline condition.

02

Multi-Stage Correction

Compounding followed by polishing and refinement. Removes deeper scratches, holograms, sanding marks and the consequences of automated wash equipment.

03

Show Car Correction

A multi-day undertaking. We chase every defect under multiple lighting conditions until the finish stands up to inspection from any angle, in any light.

Ceramic Coating

A protective glass finish, only as good as the paint beneath it.

Once the surface is corrected, the ceramic is installed in a controlled environment and cured under monitored conditions. We use Gtechniq ceramic coating products as part of our professional detailing services — as independent installers, not as an approved or authorized Gtechniq dealer.

The result is hydrophobic, chemical-resistant, UV-stable, and optically richer than the finish you started with.

The Complete Process

7-step correction & coating

  1. 01

    Thorough Wash & Initial Inspection

The vehicle is carefully washed and inspected under inspection lighting to assess paint condition and identify every imperfection.

  2. 02

    Iron Decontamination

A chemical iron remover is applied to safely dissolve embedded metallic particles and brake-dust contamination.

  3. 03

    Clay Bar Treatment

The surface is clayed to remove bonded surface contamination, leaving the paint perfectly smooth.

  4. 04

    Deep Cut Polishing

A heavy-cut compound removes deeper scratches, oxidation and severe paint defects.

  5. 05

    Medium Polishing — Refinement

The paint is refined to reduce haze and further correct imperfections left from the cutting stage.

  6. 06

    Fine Polishing — Final Finish

A jeweling polish maximizes gloss, clarity and depth before any coating chemistry touches the panel.

  7. 07

    Dual-Layer Ceramic Coating

Two layers of premium Gtechniq ceramic coating products are applied for maximum durability, chemical resistance and high-gloss finish — delivering up to 5 years of protection when properly maintained.

Why Ceramic

Coating benefits

01

Hydrophobic Defense

Water beads and rolls clean off the surface, taking dust and contaminants with it. Wash time drops and water-spot risk falls.

02

Chemical Resistance

The cured glass-like surface stands up to bird droppings, tree sap, bug residue and road grime that would otherwise etch the clear coat.

03

UV Protection

Blocks the wavelengths responsible for oxidation, fade and chalking — particularly on dark paints exposed to California sun.

04

Optical Gloss

A correctly applied coating amplifies the depth and clarity of the corrected paint beneath. The finish looks wet, even dry.

05

Reduced Maintenance

Less effort, fewer chemicals, longer time between meaningful corrections. The coating earns its place every wash.

06

Multi-Year Protection

A properly cured ceramic coating bonds with the clear coat and remains for years — up to 5 years with proper maintenance.
