BMW Paint Protection

BMW paint — particularly Alpine White, Frozen Grey, Isle of Man Green and Individual finishes — rewards proper preparation and penalizes shortcuts. Every BMW we protect at Flex is measured with a coating-thickness gauge, corrected under high-CRI inspection lighting, and coated with the manufacturer-authorized system that matches the vehicle's use case.

For M3, M4, M5 and M8: we recommend a full-front Track Package in 3M or XPEL PPF (bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors, A-pillars, rocker leading edges), paired with a Gtechniq ceramic coating for up to 5 years of chemical and UV resistance.

For X5, X7 and XM: full-front PPF is standard, with owners in Pasadena's canyon and freeway routes increasingly adding rocker panel and door cup coverage. Ceramic on remaining panels and glass.

For i4, iX, i5 and i7: EV-specific considerations. Regenerative braking means less brake dust than an ICE BMW, but the paint is still standard BMW clear coat and behaves the same way under UV and chemical attack. Ceramic coating and windshield tint noticeably improve efficiency and cabin comfort.

Frozen (matte) finishes require specific protection. Standard gloss PPF is inappropriate — we install matte-specific PPF and matte-approved ceramic coatings that preserve the intended finish.
